GOOD GUMNUTS FESTIVAL - YOUTH POLICY

To ensure the safety and security of all attendees at the Good Gumnuts Festival, including those under the age of 18 years ("Minors"), and to adhere to the liquor licensing conditions of the event, the following Youth Policy forms part of the Terms & Conditions of Sale and Entry for the festival and campground areas.

MINORS AT THE FESTIVAL

  • Minors attending the festival must be accompanied by a Responsible Adult holding a valid festival ticket at all times.

  • A Responsible Adult is defined as an adult who is:

    • A parent or guardian of the minor

    • The minor's spouse or de facto partner

    • Temporarily standing in as the parent of the minor

  • Minors not accompanied by a Responsible Adult will may be denied entry into the festival and campgrounds and may be removed from these areas.

  • Children aged 9 and under are admitted to the festival and campgrounds free of charge but must be accompanied by a Responsible Adult who holds a full price ticket at all times.

  • Minors aged 10 or older must purchase a ticket.

SUPERVISION RATIO

  • Each Responsible Adult may accompany a maximum of two (2) minors. This supervision ratio ensures adequate care and attention for each minor.

RESPONSIBLE ADULTS

  • It is the obligation of the Responsible Adult to ensure that they, and all Minors accompanying them, comply with the festival's Terms & Conditions of  Sale and Entry, instructions issued by festival staff, and the Youth Policy.

  • All festival patrons must follow any instructions contained in all permanent and temporary signage throughout the festival site.

  • Minors must not engage in any illegal or disruptive activities at any time whilst at the festival or in the campgrounds. This includes underage drinking, use of illicit substances, or any disruptive or illegal behaviour. Any breach of these conditions may result in the eviction of the Responsible Adult and all accompanying Minors from the festival and campgrounds, and Police prosecution or fines may apply.

CONSIDERATIONS FOR RESPONSIBLE ADULTS

If you are a Responsible Adult planning to accompany Minors at the festival and campgrounds, please consider the following:

  • Alcohol intake must be moderated to ensure that you can responsibly take care of any Minors in your care.

  • The Minors must be with you at all times whilst you are at the festival or in the campgrounds.

  • Anyone who is considering being a nominated Responsible Adult or bringing Minors to the festival should consider this responsibility very carefully. If you are unable to commit to the above, you should reconsider whether you are the right person to be bringing or accompanying Minors to the festival and campgrounds.

IDENTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • All attendees, regardless of age, should provide valid identification upon entry.

  • For Minors without a driver's license or passport, acceptable forms of ID include:

    • Student ID Card

    • Bus Pass

    • Personal ID Card

  • Responsible Adults must carry valid photo identification at all times.

EMERGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION

  • Upon entry, emergency contact details for all Minors should be provided. This information will be securely stored and used only in case of emergencies.

CAMPING GUIDELINES FOR MINORS

  • Minors are permitted in the camping areas only when accompanied by their Responsible Adult.

  • Family-friendly camping zones are designated for attendees with Minors.

PROHIBITED AREAS FOR MINORS

  • Certain areas within the festival grounds, such as licensed bars, may be restricted to attendees aged 18 and over.

CONSENT FORMS FOR NON-PARENT GUARDIANS

  • If a Minor is to be accompanied by a Responsible Adult who is not their legal guardian, a signed consent form from the Minor's parent or legal guardian is required. This form must grant permission for the Responsible Adult to act in loco parentis during the festival. The completed form must be presented upon entry to the festival.

Consent

  • By attending, you consent for minors to being filmed or photographed. Your/thier likeness may appear in event coverage, promotional material, or media.

By adhering to this Youth Policy, you contribute to a safe and enjoyable experience for all festival-goers. If you have any further questions or need additional information, feel free to contact our festival support team.
